Giving Tree

What is it?

Giving  tree: A bare branched tree is placed in the lobby just before Thanksgiving, with tags placed on it identifying institutions or places which will be the recipients of gifts.

How it is done?
Close to 400 tags are put on the tree representing about ten institutions of need. Parishioners pick tags and purchase gifts and place them back under the tree. A committee of about 35 persons work together in various ways to make the tags, sort gifts, carries them to storage.  Some persons also assist by baking cookies and come to deliver the gifts to the various sites.

How to volunteer?
Volunteers can assist in any of the above. Any interested person can call the parish office  ( 313-928-1324) and your name will be given to the designated chairperson who will in turn call you back.
