Adopt A Garden Opportunites

A new opportunity has arisen for those looking to volunteer time and talents here at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish! We are looking fo help to keep the garden areas of the parish in tiptop shape over the gardening months. Any one person or number of persons from a family or parish group is asked to be responsible for the upkeep (weeding, trash removal) of one small, specific section of the parish grounds. The areas of need are:

Parish Center - In front of the chapel (one section)

Small area alongside garage near parking lot (one section)
School - Seven sections of windows (one section per person or group)
Parish Office - Section along office walkway (one section)

Section along east wall of office (one section)

Area between parish office and activities building (can be divided into two sections)
Activities Building - near front entrance (one section)
Memorial Garden - small area to be decided

The "adopt-a-garden-area" concept has been very successful elsewhere and is being tried at other nearby parishes. All you are asked to do is keep a modest garden spot weed free. This is something you can do at your leisure, a little at a time. If you would like to help, but are unsure of your gardening abilities, someone will meet with you to address your concerns. Please, make the choice to give a little of your time enjoying the great outdoors at our parish!

Contact the Parish Office at 313-928-1324 for information or to adopt one of the gardens!
